The US needs "a
united health system" based
on the principle of unity, not the division and adversarial conflicts
of interest in our present health system "war of all against
all" that pits doctors against patients, patients against insurers,
and doctors against insurers. United Health System (UHS) as an organization
is a health system research, education, and citizen advocacy group.
We advocate "a united health system" based on unity and
cooperation, not division and competition.
Give Me Medical Care, or Give Me Death
America has a health care crisis not only in
terms of costs but also in terms of values. The American health system
isn't American-enough. UHS proposes and calls for a system that provides
universal and equal coverage, lower costs, better cost containment,
the best possible care, and excellent service consistent with the fundamental
principles that are the basis of American society. A United Health
System.

SINGLE PAYER REPORT
UHS's John Schwarz served on the Minnesota State Legislature's Single Payer
Working Group. The working group was part of the Health Care Access Commission.
This 10-member oversight commission was created to review the progress of the
Department of Health, the Minnesota Health Care Commission, and all other agencies
involved in implementing the MinnesotaCare law.
The Single Payer Working Group developed the first single-payer study in the
legislature. John Schwarz had an integral role in developing the Single Payer
Working Group Report. It can be downloaded as a pdf here- Single
